The Kozmic Blues Band made their debut with Janis today in 1969 as they kicked off their tour at the Fillmore East in New York. Road manager John Cooke refers to the Rindge date as a "sound test," Boston as a "preview," and Fillmore East as "opening night."

Janis performed one of her first shows with Big Brother & The Holding Company this week in 1967. The band played at the Mantra-Rock Dance on January 29th at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. Other guests included Allen Ginsberg and The Grateful Dead.
